It's official. Cape Cod is the first National Seashore.

You’ve heard of National Parks. We now have National Seashores, too. The first: Cape Cod, thanks to a bill signed by JFK today. The president spent his summers here as a boy in the town of Hyannis Port. He knows its breezes, beaches, cranberry bogs, and history. Cape Cod is now protected by law. Come out next summer, and enjoy!
